Sinopsis:
A mediados del siglo XIV, el caballero Lavey (Nicolas Cage) escolta hasta un monasterio a una joven acusada de brujería. Los monjes aseguran que ella es la responsable de que la Peste Negra asole y destruya Europa. Lavey, escéptico, no acepta esta explicación y con un grupo de bravos guerreros emprende un viaje para demostrar la inocencia de la joven, pero el azar los conducirá a un lugar donde les esperan las fuerzas de las oscuridad...
